A short excerpt from Today's Writing

I approached my car.  Something felt like it was off.  The sun was just setting and I could see the light fading in the west.  I searched around in my keys, fishing around my pockets, but they weren’t there.  Really?  I forgot?  By the time I got back outside, it would be pitch black.  There were no lights where I was parked, and I had misplaced my flashlight.  This was going to be fun.

I ran back to my room and found them placed on a box near my bed.  I didn’t remember placing them there, so how did they get there?

I searched around for a flashlight too, but to no avail.  I gave up and headed back to my car.  Like I’d guessed earlier, it was dark now.  I could barely make out the shape of the car as I approached it.  I unlocked it and got inside.  I felt a tingling sensation all the way down my back, and the hairs on my arms rose.  I wasn't cold.  I turned around quickly, just to see if there was somewhere there, but there wasn’t.  It just felt really unusual, like something was out of place.

I started the car which was facing the warehouse, and turned the headlights on.  The light flashed on a figure standing near the building, a few feet away from the door that I'd come out of earlier.   The person had a masculine body structure and was average height but I couldn’t make out any specific details.  I hadn’t noticed him there when I exited, and it gave me an eerie feeling.  I locked my doors and drove off quickly, acting as if I hadn’t seen him.
