Aidenae – The Goddess of Change
Aidenae grew up to be a crazy, yet lovable Goddess. She often marveled at the world around her and enjoyed the switch of day to night that took place on earth. She found the Heavens to be quite boring, so she roamed the earth. One day, she was resting in a field underneath a tree. She glanced up, noticing the normal green hue all leaves remained until the tree died. She was disappointed. Trees were such lovely plants, why did they have to remain green all their lives, she felt there should be change. So she decided to change the color of that particular tree red. Then she noticed another, and decided orange was a lovely color as well. She changed a few others as well, until the entire forest around her was bright with reds, yellows, and oranges. Satisfied she found her way back to Mt. Olympus and stayed there for a while. A month later, she returned to her forest, only to find all the colorful leaves on the ground, the trees bare. She was horrified she had killed all the trees. She ran back to Mt. Olympus to mourn. Eventually, she returned to notice all the trees back alive, all with green leaves. She wondered how they had survived and stayed there an entire year, watching as they changed to the colors she had given to them a year ago. After a month of the `colored leaves, they all fell off the tree. It seemed natural though. They would bud green leaves once more in the springtime. Aidenae was pleased. She brought some friends to come watch the change. They were all surprised and applauded her. Without her, or her friends knowing, the change of the leaves also sparked the change of the seasons.
